In any industry, change always takes time. But change is necessary when it comes to technology. TOMAR’s commitment to the Fire and EMS Communities involves bringing safer, more innovative technology to those who answer the call, and those whose lives depend on them.
TOMAR Light-heads such as the Revolution Series feature Dual-Mode abilities: Being able to double as a Warning Light and an additional scene light, when called upon. To help vehicle manufacturers adapt this new technology, TOMAR offers several “Pre-Programmed” version of our flexible lighting solutions. This helps users and OEM’s alike choose the correct part based on what they want the lamp to do. These are broken up into the following categories:
Externally controlled lamps have been pre-programmed to Direct Control Mode (steady-burn which bypassing the internal flasher) for use in systems where a centralized controller is controlling the timing of the warning lights. For single color lamps, the primary wire activates the steady-burn. For dual-color lamps, the primary wire activates the steady-burn of the first color, and the secondary wire activates the secondary color. The lamps can be controlled by competitive products which can meet draw requirements and provide a 12-24 +VDC flash signal.
TOMAR’s Dual-Mode lamps work as hard as you do! These are full-color warning lamps which override to full-white work/scene lights. No split colors here! With TOMAR’s advanced Clear Vision Optics, we can effectively transform every one of your warning lights into powerful, steady-burn white lamps for additional scene lighting. This has been especially popular in rural or wildland areas. These lamps come pre-programmed to flash and meet SAE, NFPA 1901 and 1906, and CA-13 requirements for emergency vehicles with the primary wire; and steady burn with the secondary wire. No programming needed means your vehicle is up and running faster!
TOMAR’s Pre-Programmed Warning Pairs are designed to be plug-and play lamps which meet SAE, NFPA 1901 and 1906, and CA-13 requirements for emergency vehicles, flashing at 75 FPM Neobe (TOMAR multi-flash). The lamps are grouped in “pairs” by the end two digits. For example, a R37D-W-RW-01 and a R37D-W-RW-02 are opposite phases of each other. This means, when powered at the same time (such as the vehicle’s master emergency mode being activated), the lamps will flash at opposite timing. For dual-color lamps which have no “off” time, they flash opposite colors of each other. This makes installation of TOMAR’s warning lights simple, without the need for timely programming!
To compliment TOMAR’s Pre-Programmed Warning Lights, TOMAR’s NFPA Series of Full-Size Lightbars offers five different performance levels, all scientifically tested to meet and exceed NFPA 1901 and 1906 Zone A Upper Candela/Second requirements.
In addition, these bars feature eye-catching warning patterns for Requesting the Right-of-Way; and calmed patterns once on-scene, for Blocking the Right-of-Way. An additional “Park Kill” input wire automatically disables faster flash patterns; white flashing lights; and optional Traffic Preemption Emitters, for hands-free, automated changes once you arrive.
